Plantation radiata pine
Pinus radiata
Other
This species is the most commonly grown softwood in the southern hemisphere.
It grows vigorously on good soils with adequate rainfall and can reach a height of over 40 metres on these sites.
It is extensively used in the sawmilling industry and pruned logs can bring a premium price.
The seed we supply is from seed orchards where parent trees have been selected for vigour, straightness of form, small branch size and good wood qualities.
